My, aren't we nosy? Well, since you want to know, here's the skinny on me. But before we start, here are a few fun facts about me.
I have a very long name. However, most people call me Gopi. There is no good reason for you to do any differently.
I am a computer programmer. I have an affinity for UNIX and UNIX-like operating systems, although I can and do program for Windows as well.
In addition, I amuse myself by listening to all sorts of music, playing the bamboo flute in the South Indian classical style, reading, and programming computers. I used to run; now I occasionally walk, go mountain biking, and play ultimate frisbee.
I am one of the many volunteers that help organize the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. It is (I believe) the largest festival of Carnatic music outside of India.
I'm not old enough to have much of a past. That will change eventually.
When I was seven years old, my family moved to India. Several people have asked me about the experience, or have asked for advice since they are contemplating a similar move for their families. I have written a page of experiences and advice about moving to India.
From the time I moved to Madras, India till the time I graduated from high school, I attended Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School. My page of memories seems to have generated some interest, so I'm leaving it online. I might even update it.
