I've been hunting around, trying to find Giovanni Guareschi's series featuring Don Camillo (I've read one book, "Comrade Don Camillo"). I can't find the books anywhere.
The full text of the entire series is online, with the sketches at the beginning of each chapter.
It's a poor substitute for a real book, but it'll have to do.
For the uninitiated, Guareschi wrote the Don Camillo series as a bunch of short stories published in his newspaper "Candido", an anti-communist propaganda paper in post-war Italy.
This book doesn't seem to be available any more, but I found the full text online.
